BRIEF BACKGROUND

Dela Gati Needy Support Project (DENSUP) was founded out of the sympathy Mr Dela Gati had on the under privileged and needy children in his home town during one of his frequent visits home. He drew attention to his sister about his deep rooted concern on these children. With the help of his sister, Madam Badu Nyatefe Precious, they started small contributions towards donations to needy but brilliant school children in the form of payment of school fees, school uniform and books. Over the past five years, this philanthropic gesture continued with the help of other public spirited persons. This gesture has been going on in the Keta Municipal area especially Abor and its catchment areas. Now firm decision has been taken to turn it into a non-profitable organisation so that it is recognised formally and becomes a permanent programme. In this way it will help mobilize the needed resources both materially and financially. This would help the organisation reach out to more needy children. The organisation was then registered with the Registrar's General Department with its certificate of incorporation named Dela Gati Needy Support Project. Its acronym is "DENSUP" and the original founders are Mr. Dela Gati and Miss Precious Nyatefe Badu.
